Privacy Policy
Smoking Log by Northland Pipe Club
Last updated: October 1, 2026Northland Pipe Club respects your privacy. Smoking Log is designed to keep your pipe-smoking records in a Google Sheet associated with your own Google account rather than in a separate Smoking Log database.
Information Smoking Log Accesses
When you use Smoking Log, the app requests permission to create and access specific Google Drive files that you use with Smoking Log. This permission does not give Smoking Log access to all files or spreadsheets in your Google Drive.
Smoking Log may process information you enter into the app, including your name, pipe tobacco blends and manufacturers, pipe collection information, smoking-log entries, ratings, and notes.
How Your Information Is Used
Smoking Log uses this information only to provide the features of the app, including creating your personal Smoking Log spreadsheet, displaying your blends and pipes, recording smoking-log entries, and retrieving your information when you return to the app.
Where Your Information Is Stored
Your Smoking Log data is stored in a Google Sheet created for Smoking Log in your Google Drive. Northland Pipe Club does not maintain a separate database containing your smoking-log entries, pipe collection, tobacco collection, ratings, or notes.
Smoking Log also uses Google Apps Script user properties to remember which Smoking Log spreadsheet belongs to your Google account. This allows the app to reconnect you with your Smoking Log when you return.
Sharing of Information
Northland Pipe Club does not sell your Smoking Log data. Smoking Log does not use your Google user data for advertising and does not share your Google user data with third parties except as necessary to operate the app through Google services or as required by law.
Google API Services
Smoking Log's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Smoking Log requests the drive.file permission, which allows the app to access only the specific Google Drive files used with Smoking Log rather than requesting access to all files in your Google Drive.
Your Control Over Your Data
Because your Smoking Log spreadsheet is stored in your Google Drive, you can view, edit, download, or delete that spreadsheet through Google Drive.
You can also revoke Smoking Log's access to your Google account through your Google Account security settings. Revoking access will prevent Smoking Log from accessing the Google Drive files it previously used unless you authorize the app again.
Data Retention
Smoking Log does not maintain a separate copy of your smoking-log data outside the Google services used to operate the app. Your Smoking Log spreadsheet remains in your Google Drive until you choose to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Smoking Log changes. The current version will be posted on this page with its most recent revision date.
